Doug A Belew

Lawrenceville, GA

Steve, Alan and families, I'm so sorry to hear about Bill's passing. So many great staples in my life growing up in Olney are passing and it makes me sad. But it also makes me proud of my hometown and it constantly makes me smile, and remember life.

I still remember what Scott and I got from your family for our high school graduations, 40 years ago. Mine was a tan bath towel with my name on it. Scott got one with his 'nickname' of Goofus, from Little League baseball. Your family, through baseball, and small-town Texas life, remembered that.

I still have that towel. It is behind the seat of my pickup. It survived college, and many years of use, and now functions to clean my dog's paws when they get in the pickup. So, every time I have picked up that towel, over the past 40 years, I have remembered your family.

Peaceful thoughts. Doug Belew, Lawrenceville, GA

I am sorry we will not be able to attend services. Bill was a good friend during our school days, but we were not good at maintaining contact except at reunions. I know he will be sorely missed by family. We pray for God's comfort in this difficult time.
