Betty, Randy, and family..we are so sorry to hear of Mr. Whimire's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of you all growing up. Mr. Whitmire got me through some tough times when I was struggling in math and I probably wouldn't have graduated without his help. Sending love and prayers for comfort and peace during this hard time.

Betty and Randy, we are so very sorry to hear of your loss. Roy was such a good friend to Robert, and to all of us, for so many years. We'll never forget the friendship and fun we enjoyed at all the "pickins", and how he and Robert would take the kids fishing at the tank. He was always so patient with the kids, whether they were fishing, camping, or learning to play guitar. I'll bet he and Robert are up there picking with the guys now. Betty, my thoughts and prayers are with you. If there is anything at all I can do to help you, please let me know. God keep you in His loving watchcare.

Betty and Randy, Bobby and I are so very sorry to hear about Roy's passing! I can still remember sitting at your kitchen table as Roy devoted so much of his time to making sure that I got through my senior year of Algebra while completing all remaining courses through correspondence in order to graduate with my class!! I could never have made it without him!! We have wonderful memories of those days! We are praying for peace and comfort for you both in the days to come!!

Mr Whitmire lives on in each of us and the skills he shared with us to help us in our chosen professions. Judging by the sentiments shared above, I would count him as a very successful teacher, husband, father, friend and Olney citizen. Appreciation for his sharing is life with us. What more can any of us give?

Betty and Randy——-
I am so sorry for your loss! In addition to being an incredible teacher, Roy was always positive and optimistic. He always had a smile on his face. He inspired my interest in geometry and calculus which became the foundation for me to pursue Math as my minor in college. We enjoyed him bringing the boys to the farm to hunt and fish. Thoughts and prayers to you both and to all your family in this difficult time!!

I am so sorry for your loss. Gods peace be with your family. It was always such a treat for Mr. Whitmire to play his guitar for us in class. He always inspired us to get our homework done because he might call on you to work the problem on the board. We never wanted to disappoint Mr. Whitmire. From time to time he rewarded good work with a coke he would buy from the coke machine. Thank you Mr. Whitmire for caring so much.

Peace and love, Betty and Randy.
This is sad news indeed. You always think there's time enough for one more family get-together, one more game of dominoes, one more beer... and then, there isn't.
I will long remember his friendly smile, encouraging words of advice to a new math teacher, and sitting across the table playing 42, some of the happiest times. He was my wife's uncle but I felt like he kind of adopted me, I certainly thought of him as Uncle Dean.
Truly sad.

I am so sorry for your loss. I would have never passed math of any kind without Mr. Whitmire. He was the nicest man and a great teacher. He always called us “little friends.” One day we were pretty rowdy, I don’t remember why, anyway, we pushed him too far and he called us “little enemies.” We straightened right up, we never wanted to disappoint him. Thank you for sharing him with us, he made a great impact.

I loved and admired Mr. Whitmire. I spent a fair amount of time in the Whitmire house while I was in high school. Mr. Whitmire was always smiling, friendly and supportive. He was one of the really good guys.
I pray for God's peace and comfort for the family during this time.
