Donald W. Owen, age 62, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at his home in Newcastle Texas surrounded by his family and loved ones. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

Donald was born June 23, 1957 in Olney, Texas to the late Edwin and Joyce (Thomas) Owen. Donald joined the United States Army on November 04, 1974 and was stationed in Germany for two years. While home on leave he met the mother of his three sons Joyce (Pounds) Owen and it was love at first site. After being released from the Army, he came back home to be with his family and his twin sons Brad and Chad and step daughter Tammy. After his return home he worked on the oil derricks and soon found himself to be the father of his third son, Derrick, who was named after the oil derricks he loved working on. Later in life he moved to the DFW Metroplex where he was joint owner of a construction company called Precisions Pallets. There wasn't much that he could not build. He was a true jack of all trades and master of all. He was preceded in death by his two sisters Rhonda Elaine Weekly and Malinda Kay Kinderknecht, as well as a brother Robert Edwin Owen, and a nephew Bryan Kinderknecht.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Joyce Owen of Newcastle, Texas; Step daughter Tammy Jones and Husband Shawn of Leander, Texas; three sons, Brad Owen and wife Paula of Olney, Texas, Chad Owen and wife Sara of Newcastle, Texas, and Derrick Owen of Newcastle, Texas; four grandsons Lucas and Logan Owen of Newcastle, Texas, Taylor Jones of Leander, Texas, and Riley Jones of Denton, Texas, as well as a niece, Aubrey Jordan and Husband Jeremy of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, and two nephews, Joshua Kinderknecht and wife Kristyn of Cody, Wyoming, and Austin Weekley of Pensacola, Florida.
