Clyde Turner, age 83, died Monday, January 11, 2021 at Grace Care Center in Olney, Texas. Due to the current COVID pandemic, the family has chosen a graveside service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas with Scotte Clark, minister of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Clyde was born on July 11, 1937 in Dillon, South Carolina to the late Lubert and Louise (Graves) Turner. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He and Margie Christal were married on February 11, 1956 and they moved to Olney in 1957. Clyde had worked in the oilfield for many years and was the former manager and commander of American Legion Gray Bar Post #414 in Olney. He truly loved working with the American Legion. Clyde had a very giving heart and enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and family. He enjoyed history, collecting coins and had a passion for antique cars.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Maybelle and Tom Christal; two sons, Gary Mack Turner and Clyde Turner, Jr.; wife, Margie Turner; two brothers, Carl Turner and Milton Turner; one sister, Lib Webb; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy Webb, Jack Eustace and Jerry Christal; and one sister-in-law, Jody Christal.

Clyde is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Jan Turner of Olney and Rick and Kim Turner of Olney; five grandchildren, Tye Turner and wife Sara of Wichita Falls, Texas, Blake Turner and wife Lisa of Ector, Texas, Kevin Turner of Dallas, Texas, Malia Cawthon and husband Ryan of Olney and Kyle Turner and wife Jill of Olney; seven great-grandchildren and another great-granddaughter due in April; one sister, Connie Lewis and husband Doug of Cape Carteret, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Turner of Asheboro, North Carolina, Melanie Turner of Concord, North Carolina and Nita Eustace of Bridgeport, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Grace Care Center for their care and attention to Clyde and his family.
