Dorothy Hendry Thomson, age 74, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Baylor Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Dorothy was born December 29, 1943 in Kermit, Texas to the late Daniel Leroy Kinman and Betty (Rogers) Kinman. She moved to Olney in the summer of 1980 from Abilene, Texas. “Dot” was known around the community for her burgers, enchiladas and famous beans and corn bread at DQ. She loved taking care of people, was a real people person and was known for her caring nature. She loved her family and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Claude Eugene Hendry, a sister, Shirley Roquemore, and a brother, Daniel Kinman.
Survivors include one sister, Edna Jean “Jeanie” Hawkins of Wink, Texas; three sons: Ronnie Beesley and wife Angela of Goose Creek, South Carolina, James Benson and wife Sherri of Olney, Texas and Christopher Hendry of Wausau, Wisconsin; three daughters: Mahana McKinney and husband Michael of Olney, Texas, Tracey Poarch and husband Kelly of Garland, Texas and Melissa Hendry of Oak Point, Texas; eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
