Obituary
Alfred Ross, (A.R."), Pearcy, age 85, died Thursday, August 20, 2015, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Olney with Rev. Harrell Braddock, Jr., pastor, officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in Erath Garden of Memories, in Stephenville.Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
A.R. was born on January 15, 1930 in Stephenville, Texas. He attended Tarleton and then he entered Texas A.M. and graduated in the Spring of 1953. The Corp and the Wainwright Rifles organization were very important to him while attending Tarleton. He married the love of his life, Donna Louise D'Arcy on June 27, 1953 at the First Methodist Church in Stephenville, Texas. A.R. was in the United States Air Force, so they made their homes in San Angelo, Texas and Chandler, Arizona. He was later stationed at Ellington Air Force Base in Houston, Texas. After one year, A.R. left the Air Force and the young family moved to Olney, Texas where he entered the oil business. A.R. retained his love for flying. He shared a passion for travel and camped all over North America with Donna by his side. A.R. was Commander of the Olney Civil Air Patrol, was Past President of the Olney Rotary Club, Past President of the Airport Commission, and served ten years on the Olney City Council and was Mayor Pro Tem from 1982-1987.
A.R. is survived by Three sons: Dan Pearcy of Fort Worth, Texas, David and his wife Manuela Pearcy of Cross Roads, Texas, and Wayne Pearcy of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by four beautiful grandchildren: Mallory, Justin, Matthew, and Jason; brother-in-law, Barry Stone and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 7 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
