Obituary

Allene (Jeter) Jaynes, age 83, passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at Sylvan Health & Nursing in Clearwater, Florida.   Memorial services will held at a later date in Olney, Texas.

Allene was born on December 16, 1939, in Elbert, Texas to the late Samuel B. Jeter and Clara V (Drennan) Jeter.

Allene graduated from Newcastle Texas High School in 1958 where she participated in girl's basketball and volleyball. She was also a cheerleader and homecoming queen.

She married Donald R. Jaynes on March 20, 1959, in Wichita Falls, Texas.  They moved to Olney, Texas in 1960.  They had two daughters, Donna, and LeAnn.

Allene was a homemaker and worked several years at Piggly Wiggly. Later on, she worked with her husband for the family business, Jaynes Casing Pulling Company.  She was a member of Southside Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir.  She enjoyed ceramics, crafts, singing with the Sweet Adeline's and chaperoning her girl's school outings. Allene loved spending time with family and friends, entertaining and weekends at Possum Kingdom Lake.  Allene never met a stranger. She loved being around people, laughing and enjoying life to its fullest.

Allene moved to Clearwater, Florida in April 2012 to enjoy her retirement years with her daughter and granddaughter.

Allene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter LeAnn Jaynes-Loggins, brother Douglas Jeter and sister Runez Bagley.

Allene is survived by her daughter, Donna Jaynes-Hines of Clearwater, Florida; four grandchildren: Chrystal Hines-Lattea and husband Michael, of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Eric Loggins and wife Ariel of Olney, Texas, Leslie Loggins of Olney, Texas and Amanda Loggins-Wyatt and husband Brian of Ft. Worth, Texas; son-in-law Eddie Loggins of Olney, Texas; four great-grandchildren: Braden, Elise, Emberlee and Tucker;   her sister, Maxine Walters of Iowa Park, Texas; her sister-in-law Glenda Sanford and husband Rodney of Mesquite, Texas; and many nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.
