Ann Britton McCandless, age 86, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at Grace Care Center in Olney, Texas. No services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Ann was born on September 28, 1937 in Olney, Texas to the late James Edwin Britton and Winifred Ann (Brown) Britton. She married Aubrey Alan McCandless on September 17, 1958, in Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 2, 1997. She was a lifetime resident of Olney and was a bookkeeper until her retirement. Ann was a voracious reader and enjoyed family history research. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling. Family was important to her and she loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Caragene (Tad) Britton, and two daughters: Cynthia C. and Shannon.

Ann is survived by her sister, Judy Britton of Brandon, Florida; her son, Alan McCandless of Olney, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Lauri and David Rickson of Olney, Texas; her daughter, Becky McCandless of Dallas, Texas; her step-daughter, Judy McCandless Crawford of Cordova, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She had numerous bonus children that she loved dearly.
