Ara Parker, age 77, died Monday, September 19, 2016 in Olney, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2016, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Scotte Clark, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas.

Ara was born on September 18, 1939 in Round Timber, Texas to the late Emmit Cain Morgan and Bessie Inez (Jones) Morgan. She worked as a cook for Seven Oaks Nursing Home until her retirement. She married Charles E. Parker Sr. on June 17, 1955 in Benjamin, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2015. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Dewey Morgan, Finis Morgan, Pecos Morgan; two sisters: Barbara Morgan, Iva Symank; two grandsons: Bradley Jones, Alexander Lee Gill; and two sons-in-law: Scotty Mills and David Winn.

Survivors include her two sons: Charles E. Parker, Jr. and wife Cindy of Graham, Robert Parker and wife Janyce of Abilene; seven daughters: Denise Gill and husband Barry of Mineral Wells, JoAnn Curtis and John Hammond of McKinney, Betsy Berryman and husband Ricky of Burkburnett, Susan Parker of Graham, Sally Rollins of Olney, Jennifer Oustad and Justin Souther of Olney, and Lisa Parker of Seymour; twenty-six grandchildren, sixty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three sisters: Carolyn Hudson, Dorothy Howe, Virginia Wall, and many nieces and nephews.
