A. W. Bennie Hons, age 88, of Olney, Texas, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney. Services will be on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at St. Theresas Catholic Church of Olney with Rev. Msgr. Raymund Mullan officiating. Burial will be in Megargel Catholic Cemetary in Megargel, Texas.

Bennie was born November 16, 1924 in the Lively Community located in Baylor County, Texas to the late Frank T. and Lillie Shear Hons. He and Anita Brom were married on June 30, 1947. They had been married for sixtyfive years. Bennie owned and operated several businesses in Megargel and was in farming. He received his fiftyyear pin from the Knights of Columbus of the Catholic Church and served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Theresas Catholic Church in Olney. He was preceded in death by his parents three brothers: Frank Hons, Ed Hons, and Henry Hons and two sisters: Mary Storek, and Rosalie Renkie.

Bennie is survived by his wife, Anita Brom Hons of Olney, Texas his son Mark Hons and wife Tamara also of Olney his sister, Dorothy Laney and husband Lloyd of Wichita Falls, Texas three grandchildren: Matthew Hons and wife Annie of Crowley, Texas Keenan Hons of Granbury, Texas, and Kelsey Hons of Olney, Texas also one greatgrandchild, Eva Hons.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 67 p.m. at the funeral home.
