In Loving Memory of Barbara “Bobbie” Lynn Oldham Bailey

Barbara Lynn Oldham Bailey, affectionately known as Bobbie, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, in Olney, Texas. She was surrounded by her loving family as she left for her eternal home in heaven.

Bobbie was born on September 4, 1940, in Olney, TX. She grew up in a four-room farmhouse just north of Elbert, Texas, and graduated as salutatorian of Throckmorton High School in 1959. Unable to afford college, she soon began working at a lumberyard in Graham, Texas, where she met James Bailey, a charming contract painter from Newcastle, Texas. They had a whirlwind courtship and married on November 6, 1959. Bobbie then began her banking career, spending many years at Olney Savings and Farmers National Bank.

She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose generous heart and vibrant spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She loved to cook and, most of all, loved spending time with her family and friends.

Her photographic memory was remarkable. She never forgot the details of a story or a special date.

Bobbie had a delightful laugh and a smile that could light up any room. She loved deeply and gave generously with a special, unwavering love for her family. Her presence brought warmth, laughter, and joy.

She will be remembered for the many memories she created with those she loved.

Bobbie is survived by her daughter Mindy Bailey Cuba and husband Matt of Lakeside City, Texas; son JimBob Bailey and wife Sheila of Graham, Texas; grandchildren Wyatt Cuba, Grayson Cuba, Ian Bailey, Breanna Curnutte, Ezra Bailey, Zakkery Bailey, Marley Hungerford and husband Troy, and Noah Clifton; great-grandchildren Rilynn, Willow, and Carter Bailey, who brought her great joy.

She is also survived by her dear sister, Annette Franklin of Throckmorton, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews she adored.

Bobbie was preceded in death in 2010 by her soulmate and loving husband of 50 years, James Bailey; her parents, Hubert and Christine Oldham; in-laws, Alto and Gladys Bailey; brother, Harley Oldham; and great-granddaughter, Avery Green.

Though Bobbie has left this earthly life, the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her beautiful smile, unforgettable laugh, generous spirit, and deep love for her family will never be forgotten.

She has gained her angel wings, but her love will remain with us forever.

The family of Mrs. Bailey would like to thank the staff of Olney Rehabilitation & Care Center and Beyond Faith Hospice for their excellent care and attention they showed.

Memorials may be made to the Young County Humane Society, 120 Craig Street, Graham Tx, 76450, or the Olney Cemetery Association, 903 Cactus Lane, Olney, TX 76374.
