Bernice Blackstock, age 81, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Olney, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, Texas with Cary Summers of Rogersville, Missouri officiating. Burial will follow in the Newcastle Cemetery. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Bernice was born on December 5, 1930 in Ft. Belknap, Texas to the late Lawton Delbert and Altha Mae Whiteley Thompson. She and J.W. Blackstock were married on January 19, 1952 in Carlbad, New Mexico. Bernice had been a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents a brother Franklin Thompson also two sisters: Ann Helton, and Jo Neal.

Survivors include her husband, J.W. Blackstock of Ft. Belknap, Texas son Cliff Blackstock and wife Debbie of Ft. Belknap, Texas two daughters: Jacque Summers and husband Cary of Rogersville, Missouri, and JoAnn Blackstock of Bridgeport, Texas six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 57 pm at the funeral home.
