Obituary

Beryl Rogers, age 85, died July 14, 2012 in Pinellas Park, Florida. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday July 18, 2012, at Southside Baptist Church with Andy Graham, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Beryl was born on September 17, 1926 in Seymour, Texas to the late Charlie Emerson and Beulah L. Rogers. Beryl attended schools in both the Bittercreek community and Olney. He married Nilda Mae Corgill on June 22, 1952 in Loving, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 24, 1994. Beryl proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II attaining the rank of Seaman First Class. He worked as a lineman for G.T.E. Telephone Communications until his retirement. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church of Olney, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Timothy Rogers, and a sister Peggy McCarty.

He is survived by three sons: Gary Rogers and wifeTami of Lubbock, Texas, Clay Rogers and wife Mary of Safety Harbor, Florida, and Philip Rogers and wife Julie of San Antonio, Texas one sister: Norma Marie Matlock of Ohio City, Colorado and four grandchildren: C.J. Rogers, Cole Rogers, William Rogers, and Elizabeth Rogers.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 17, 2012 from 68 p.m. at the funeral home.
