Betty Jo Livingston, 92, of Megargel, Texas passed away Friday, February 18, 2022, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church in Olney, Texas, with Scotte Clark, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Betty was born on March 23, 1929, in Electra, Texas to the late Willis Clay Reid and Anna Laura (Bishop) Reid. She married the love of her life, F.L. "Red" Livingston on January 2, 1945 in Walters, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 17, 2014. Betty was a lifetime resident of Megargel and was a great contributor and supporter of communities in the area. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She loved gardening and yard work and was famous for her homemade pickles. Betty was not only a great homemaker, but she was a great help-mate and supporter to her husband "Red" in the family farming, ranching and oil business.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, James Reid Livingston; three sons: Freddie Livingston, Eddie Livingston, and David Livingston; and her sister, Eileen Hilton.
Betty is survived by one daughter, Laurie Tinney and husband Cecil of Megargel, Texas; one sister, Bobby Wright of Olney, Texas; nine grandchildren: Diane Collins of Iowa Park, Texas, Freddie Livingston Jr. and wife Angie of Seymour, Texas; Steven "Reno" Livingston and wife Kelly of Seymour, Texas, David Jo Livingston, Jr. of Austin, Texas, Julie Reynolds and husband Steven of Wichita Falls, Texas, Sarah Kelcy and husband Clark of New Home, Texas, Misty King of Lubbock, Texas, Lindy Kromer and husband Chris of Yukon, Oklahoma and Katie Harrison of Megargel, Texas; sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas.
