Betty Bearden Sullivan, age 95, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Olney, with Scotte Clark, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Betty was born on July 6, 1926, in Olney, Texas to the late Earl Bearden and Ruth (Lynch) Bearden. She was a lifetime resident of Olney and a member of First Baptist Church. She was a sales clerk at Cub Drug for many years. She married Foster Sullivan on October 11, 1947, in Vernon, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1992. Betty enjoyed cooking immensely, and she made the best chicken fried steak and gravy in the world along with peach cobbler and banana pudding. She was also known for her chicken spaghetti. Betty always took homemade chicken soup to family and friends when they were sick.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters-in-law: Darla Sullivan and Cris Sullivan; her grandson, Robert Sullivan; five brothers and two sisters.
Betty is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law: Bill Sullivan of Ft. Worth and Sam and Donna Sullivan of Olney; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Frankie Bailey of Olney; five grandchildren: Beth Blanchard and husband William of Ft. Worth, Keri Brown and husband Steven of Olney, Kevin Sullivan and wife Lauren of Olney, Amanda Barrientes and husband Raul of Olney and Melinda Horn and husband David of Graham; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
