Bill McClelland, age 86, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 in Olney, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Scotte Clark, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Bill was born on January 27, 1929 in Girard, Kansas to the late Bessie Mae McClelland and Ira E. McClelland. He graduated from Girard High School in 1946 and attended Kansas State where he played football for one year before enlisting in the United States Army and serving during the Korean War. He returned to Kansas and graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Management degree.

Bill began his career in the aluminum extrusion industry in Georgia in the late 1950's that spanned more than 50 years. He moved to Olney, Texas in 1977 from Meridian, Mississippi. He was the managing partner of Tower Extrusions for over 20 years before a partial retirement, but continued to advise the company until his death. He led the growth of Tower from a small struggling company to a successful industry leader over the course of his career. He was the managing partner of Barrett Trailers from 2007 until its sale in 2014. He was also the owner of BM Oil Co. Bill was a self made man but his success in business was in large part due to a very loyal and capable group of employees who worked with him to build the companies.

He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

Survivors include his son Mark McClelland and wife Gay Lynn of Olney, Texas; two grandchildren: Lyndsey (McClelland) Miller and husband Reid of Fort Worth, Texas, and Hayden McClelland of Olney, Texas and his fiancée Casey Cantrell of Dallas, Texas.
