Billy Ray Howell, age 66, died Sunday, January 26, 2014, in Olney, Texas. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on January 28, 2014 at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas with Scotte Clark, of Olney, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Billy was born on July 3, 1947 in Seymour, Texas to the late William Vernon and Ruby Francis (Donaldson) Howell. He moved to Olney in 1989 from Seymour and had worked in the oilfield. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Henry James William Howell and Charles Wayne Howell; and one sister, Helen Sue Howell.

Billy is survived by one daughter, Sheila Garza and husband Robert of Vivian, Louisiana; four sons: Robert Howell and wife Nona of Lubbock, Texas, Vernon Howell and wife Gloria of Graham, Texas, Vernon Lewis of Denton, Texas, B.J. Howell and wife Pam of Louden, Tennessee; eight grandchildren: Crystal, Brandi, Mikaela, Jimmy, Michael, Christina, Timothy, and Steven; nephews: Bobby Mayes and wife Sandra and Taylor Mayes, James Mayes and wife Suzanne; nieces, Addie Nunley and Sirra Mayes; two sisters: Louise Mayes and Barbara Peek; one brother, Roy Howell; and one great-granddaughter, Miranda Moyer.
