Jane (Atchley) Gates passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Good Shepherd Hospice, at the age of 93. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Lunn Funeral Home.

Jane was born on October 29, 1930, in Olney, Texas to Paul and Mildred (Glenn) Atchley. She was the beloved wife of Griffith G. Gates and they married on February 19, 1960, in Austin, Texas. Griffith preceded Jane in death on June 8, 2015. Jane loved indulging in her favorite snack, chocolate. She enjoyed keeping up with her favorite college sports teams from the University of Texas. Jane also enjoyed anything having to do with butterflies and cardinals.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents; Paul and Mildred (Glenn) Atchley, her sister Billie Pauline (Atchley) Moore, her brother, Glenn Atchley, and her daughter Valerie Dyer-Gates.

She is survived by her son; Paul Atchley Gates of Manhattan, Kansas; four nieces: Delisa Thomas of Wichita Falls, Texas, Sherrye Bogle of  Leander, Texas, Georgia Atchley of Aurora, Colorado, and Glenda Burg of Dallas, Texas; and one nephew; Steve Atchley of Aurora, Colorado.
