Burnis Wayne Robinson, age 88, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Medical City-Weatherford, in Weatherford, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas, with David Robinson, grandson of the deceased officiating. He will be assisted by Ted Warwick and Melvin Blalock. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Burnis was born on October 3, 1933 in Kerens, Texas to Thomas Lowell and Myrtle Opal (Sessions) Robinson. He married Mattie Lee Wages on April 16, 1954 in Irving, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 13, 2000. Mr. Robinson served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was self-employed, doing mowing and plowing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and he loved spending time with all of his family, especially his grandchildren. Burnis was a member of Bankhead Church of Christ in Weatherford, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one daughter; Bettye L. Robinson.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law; Gary Wayne and Carol Robinson of Weatherford, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law; Tracy Jo and Gary Deck of Fort Worth, Texas; four grandchildren; Ashley Robinson, David Robinson, Travis Deck and his wife Mikala, and Erin Lanier and her husband Matt; two great grandchildren; Evie Deck and Jack Lanier.
