Carla Casteel Terrell, age 58, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2023, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney with Chad Owen officiating.  Interment will follow at Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, Texas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Carla was born on September 9, 1964, in Olney, Texas to the late James Edward "Ed" Casteel and Roxa (Culp) Casteel. She was a longtime resident of Young County and a member of Christian Hope Assembly of God in Newcastle. She graduated from Beauty School with her degree in cosmetology. Carla worked as a medical billing clerk at Hamilton Hospital close to 20 years. She was very talented and loved to paint, dance, sing and play cards with her friends. Carla loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them and was known as a very good cook.

Carla was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Don Casteel, Danny Casteel and Jimmy Casteel; a nephew, James Daniel Casteel; two nieces: Annette Casteel and Amber Casteel Meacham; and her brother-in-law, Charles Horn.

Carla is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Quentin and Erin Terrell of Newcastle; one daughter and son-in-law, Teela and Tom Bohannan of Rye, Colorado; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Ginger Horn of Graham; Darla and Steve Fikes of Olney; one brother, Ronny Casteel of Newcastle; sister-in-law, Deb Casteel of Graham; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and the closest, loving friends anyone could ask for.
