Carlton Hugh Scott, age 73, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the Hamilton Street Church of Christ in Olney, Texas with Scotte Clark, minister, officiating, assisted by Richard Lunsford of Olney. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas.
Carlton was born on August 16, 1941 in Quanah, Texas to the late Cecil Scott and Lena (McMennamy) Scott. He had lived in the Olney area since 1948 and was a graduate of the Antelope High School class of 1959. Carlton served his country proudly in the United States Army. He married Jimmie Parks on November 11, 1991 in Olney, Texas. He was self-employed in the oilfield business and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, a twin sister, Carolyn Sue Manley; two step-sons: John Greer and Billy Ray Pennington, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Heather Greer.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jimmie Scott of Olney; two sons: Tommy Tubb and wife Diana and Stephen Scott and wife Paige all of Olney; daughter, Laurie Hudson and husband Jimmy of Olney; brother, Wayne Scott and wife Lornell of Vallejo, California; three sisters: Jenita (Jen) Gough of Olney, Rose Petty and Marilyn Westbrook both of Wichita Falls; eleven grandchildren: Thomas Tubb of Olney, Krista Leemann and husband Marshall of Greensboro, North Carolina, Kayla Glover and husband Robert of Olney, Dylan Hudson of Olney, Emma Scott of Olney, Joey Don Beverage of Olney, Stormy Pennington of Bowie, Billy Lyn Pennington of Wichita Falls, Dylan Pennington of Wichita Falls, Kennedy Pennington of Nocona, Trey Pennington of Nocona; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
