Obituary

Carolyn Cooke was born October 28, 1943 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas and passed away on May 11, 2017 at her home in Olney, Texas.
She moved to Olney with her late husband, Samuel Cooke, in 1976. Together Samuel and Carolyn had two children; Marty Lane and Alicia Cooke. Carolyn was a home health nurse for 28 years. She loved to be around people, and absolutely loved to plant flowers and grow her own vegetables. Sam and Carolyn loved to travel almost all 50 states. Carolyn was a devoted Christian and loved to read Jesus Calling books. She was an active word search puzzle player. Above all, Carolyn will be missed for the way she loved all her children, the way she would smile and the way her eyes would shine when she would see you coming. She absolutely loved to learn new things. She was the best support system anyone could have and she was loved. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Samuel Cooke, on February 25, 2007.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Alicia Cooke-Maxwell of Olney and granddaughter Vicky Cooke-Kelley of Olney. All together, she had two children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
One of Carolyn's last sentence was "I'm going to get to two-step with Sam again".
There will be no memorial services upon Carolyn's request. Memorials may be made to: Solaris Healthcare, 2250 S. FM 51, Ste. 400, Decatur, Texas, 76234.
Condolences may be sent to the family at www.lunnfuneralhome.com.
