Charles W. Calvin Sr., age 72, died Monday, January 13, 2014 at his home in Olney. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Wilburn Kimbro and Stephen Collard, officiating. Inurnment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Charles was born on June 29, 1941 in Ft. Worth, Texas to the late Olin Earl and Edith Mary (Walker) Calvin. He was a longtime resident of Olney and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olney. Charles had worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a cowboy, welder, truck driver and helicopter mechanic. He was employed at Olney Door & Screen until his retirement. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jason Shane Calvin in 1975, his brother, John Thomas Calvin in 2013, and a granddaughter, Leann Jeanette.

Charles is survived by his son, Chuck Calvin and wife Barbara of Olney; daughters: Kayse Champion of Megargel, Texas, Rhonda Fowler of Coos Bay, Oregon, and Jaye Lynn Waymon of Alexandria, Texas; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be Thursday January 16, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
