Obituary

William Christopher Rogers, 52, passed away on October 24, 2022, at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Olney with his father, Jimmy Rogers, officiating.

Chris was born on March 27, 1970, in Abilene, Texas.  He was the son of Jimmy and Kay Rogers.  He graduated from Olney High School where he played a variety of sports.  He attended Texas Tech and later graduated from Midwestern State University with a business degree.  He worked for many years at American National Bank in Wichita Falls.

Chris married Mandy Holcomb and they had a son, Ryan.  Ryan was the pride and joy of his life and is currently serving his country as a United States Marine.

Chris enjoyed cooking and trying new types of food, shopping, playing golf, and boating on Possum Kingdom Lake with his family.  Chris was a people person and a friend to everyone he met.  He also loved going to estate sales and flea markets looking for treasures.  He was very sentimental and loved things that reminded him of his childhood. He was very generous, especially to his son, nieces and nephews.  He spent many hours attending and supporting his brothers', Brian's and Kirk's, football teams.  When at home, you could find him in the kitchen trying new recipes, playing with his dogs and watching reruns of Little House on the Prairie, American Pickers and the Night Stalker.

Chris is survived by his son, Ryan of Camp Pendleton, California; his parents, Jimmy and Kay of Possum Kingdom; sister, Tammy Montgomery and husband Kendall of Olney; brothers, Brian Rogers and wife Kim of Waxahachie and Kirk Rogers of Austin; nieces, Sydney, Morgan and Jae Montgomery and Alexis Rogers; nephews, Chase and Cason Rogers and a great niece, Boston Rogers.  He is further survived by Mandy Rogers of Forth Worth and his extended family and many close friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his infant brothers, David and Jimmy Rogers, Grandparents, Cecil and Pearl Rogers and W.S. and Glennie Nelson.

Memorials may be sent to The Humane Society in Wichita Falls, 4360 Old Iowa Park Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76305.
