Cora Lee Bruton Foster, age 88, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at her home in Paradise, Texas. Cora was born on May 25, 1935, in Elbert, Texas to the late W. E. Bruton and Nora Mildred (Keeter) Bruton. She graduated from LVN School and had worked at Olney Hamilton Hospital for many years. She also worked for Solaris Hospice in Wise County for 15 years. She married Franklin "Buzz" Foster on June 7, 1953, in Elbert, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2007. She moved from Branson, Missouri to Paradise, Texas in 2001. She married David Howard in 2015 in Bridgeport, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2023. Cora was also preceded in death by her brother, Weldon Bruton; two sisters: Marie Castleberry and Imogene Nanson; one son, Rodney Foster; and four grandchildren: Patricia Leann "Tye" Foster, Frankie LeAnn Foster, Tiffany Foster and Micha Paul Foster.

She's the one who always lit up the room with her welcoming smile and kind words.

She's the one who worked hard all her life, even years beyond when everyone else retired.

She's the one who comforted so many when their loved ones were needing end-of-life care, as she worked for Solaris Hospice, earning Employee of the Year early on.

She's the one always looking out for others, trying her best to make their lives more comfortable, better.

At every family event, reunion, holiday, she's the one we always looked forward to seeing.

She's the one who raised four great boys, and had a hand in helping raise grandkids along the way.

She's the one whose door was always open, for anyone and everyone, never judgmental, always loving.

She's the one we will miss and remember.

Cora is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law: Cye Foster and wife Paula of Rhome, Texas, Jack Foster and wife Lea Anna of Stockton, Missouri, Ted Foster and wife Tracy of Newcastle, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Solaris Hospice of Wise County, 2250 FM 51, Ste. 400, Decatur, Texas 76234.
