The Rev. David G. Jeske, age 74, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m on Friday, May 18, 2012 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olney with Rev. Sean Reeves officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Rev. Jeske was born on March 15, 1938 in Olney, Texas to the late G.E. Jerry and Ella Barlau Jeske. He and Aletha Gallmeier were married on June 30, 1962 in Vernon, Texas. He had been a minister in Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas for forty-four years. Rev. Jeske was an active member of the Jr. Chamber of Commerce, and the Lions Club. He was also a devoted member of the Lutheran Ministries, Lutheran Welfare, and Lutheran Laymans League. He was preceded in death by his parents a daughter, Jennifer Lyn Jeske in 1971 and a brother, Jerold Jeske in 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Aletha Jeske of Olney, Texas; two daughters: Ruth Marie Norrell of Galveston, Texas, Rebecca Hutsell and husband Woody of Houston, Texas; a brother, Phil Jeske I and wife Agnes of Olney, Texas; two sisters: Janice Gauger and husband Reuel of Olney, Texas, Sandra Barr and husband Randy of Puerto Villarta, Mexico; also three grandchildren: Devin Norrell of Galveston, Texas, Mack Hutsell and Emily Hutsell both of Houston, Texas.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
