Diane St. John Whitaker, age 76, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at United Regional Healthcare in Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2024, at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas with Dave Bigley, pastor of Newcastle Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Diane was born on July 31, 1947, in Olney, Texas to the late Delbert Dee St. John and Claude Key (Jackey) Garvey St. John. She was a lifetime resident of Olney and a member of Newcastle Methodist Church. She was a secretary at Media Recovery in Graham until her retirement. Diane liked to cook and enjoyed going to the casino. She always stayed busy, especially going shopping and visiting with people. Most of all, Diane loved her grandsons. Diane was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Kevin Dirk Whitaker.

Diane is survived by her son, Joe Bob Whitaker and wife Ann Noteboom of Olney; two grandsons: Boomer Joe Whitaker of Stephenville and Buckley Joe Whitaker of Olney; her special nephew, Tommy D. Taylor of Newcastle; her sister, Susan Schaelling of Wichita Falls; as well as several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
