D.M. Stump, age 90, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Megargel Cemetery with Chad Edgington, pastor of First Baptist Church of Olney, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

D.M. was born on September 13, 1926 in Goree, Texas to the late Marcus A. Stump and Mae (Tucker) Stump. He worked in the oilfield for many years for L.T. Burns. He had lived in Megargel for many years and was a longtime member of the Megargel Baptist Church until it closed. D.M. married Lennie Lee Bell on December 16, 1967 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She preceded him in death on December 19, 1995. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mae Worthy.

Survivors include his son, Danny Stump of Wichita Falls, Texas, and his daughter Rita Stump Thaxton of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Dorothy Storm of Kentucky; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
