Donald Ray Dunagan

Donald Ray Dunagan, age 91, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at his home in Olney, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Don was born on June 28, 1931, in Olney, Texas to the late Bert Bryan Dunagan and Opal Lucile (Beauchamp) Dunagan. He graduated from Olney High School and then served his country proudly in the United States Army for several years. He married Jo Etta Goforth on May 8, 1956. She preceded him in death on April 23, 2003. Don had a successful career working for the State of Texas as a teacher, for the Rehabilitation Commission and then in the Probation Department in Fort Worth. He was a farmer and rancher in Young County for many years and truly enjoyed spending time in the country. He had a large arrowhead collection dating back to his granddad's time. He married Nadyne Copeland on March 10, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church in Olney. Don was a fan of music of all kinds and had CD's by the hundreds. He and Nadyne loved to go dancing and they were still dancing well up into their 80's.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Jo Etta and a brother, Ronald Royce Dunagan.

Don is survived by his wife, Nadyne Copeland of Olney; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Kerry and wife Tonya Dunagan of Weatherford and Royce Dunagan of Olney; two step-daughters: Cynthia Copeland of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Sheri May of Granbury; one step-son, Bob Copeland of Olney; three granddaughters: Holly, April and Rhiannon; four great-grandchildren; and his special caregiver, Rosa Ramirez.
