Donald Myrick, age 84 died Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Olney, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Bodie Beaman officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery in Olney. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Donald was born on January 28, 1929 to the late Amos and Lottie Lee (Tye) Myrick in Rising Star, Texas. He and Mary Lois Watson were married on February 1, 1978 in Oklahoma. Donald had worked with a gas company until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and Church Street Church of Christ. Donald served in the National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jerry Myrick, and his grandson Kevin Myrick.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Myrick of Olney, Texas; sisters: Jane Carter and husband Jerry of Eastland, Texas and Marianne Walker and husband Vernon of North Carolina; son Ron Myrick and wife Theresa of Electra, Texas; daughter Kathy Weaver of Graham, Texas; adopted son, Derrick Myrick and Rhonda of Olney, Texas; two stepsons, Eric Fields and James Fields both of Olney, Texas; and stepdaughter Thresa Bolden of Springtown, Texas; also eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
