Doris Elaine Alexander Richardson, 91, passed away September 9, 2015.

Doris was born in Westover, TX on January 10, 1924 to William Oler & Mollie Mae Alexander.

Doris attended Westover High School, graduating valedictorian in 1941. She attended North Texas State Teachers College, graduating in 1945. She worked as an administrative secretary for many years. After moving to Pasadena, TX she began her teaching career with the Pasadena Independent School District. After receiving her master's degree in 1971 from the University of Houston, she began a teaching career at San Jacinto Junior College, retiring in 1984.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burns M. Richardson; brother, William "Bill" Alexander; sisters, Marjorie Farr, Glenda Potter, and Roberta "Bobbie" Bishop.

She is survived by her son, Steven Richardson; daughter, Jill Hamby and son-in-law, Gary Hamby; grandchildren, Brittany Hamby Wissman and husband John, Kristen Hamby Richardson, Emily Richardson; great-grandchildren, Laney Richardson and Cheyenne Richardson; sisters, Frances Copeland and Betty Williams; sister-in-law, Nevelyn Alexander; and brother-in-law, Odell Bishop. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many loving friends.

Doris will be buried in Westover, TX, Saturday, September 12th. There will be a visitation at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, TX at 9:00am with a funeral service to follow at 10:00am, followed by a gravesite service at the Westover Cemetery.

There will be a memorial service for Doris Thursday, September 17th at the First United Methodist Church, 1062 Fairmont Parkway, Pasadena, TX at 6:00pm.
