Dorothy (Bishop) Short, age 84, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Green Oaks Church of Christ in Arlington, Texas with Joe Norton and Glen Osburn officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Dorothy was born on July 18, 1931 in Young County, Texas near Newcastle to the late Gilbert Ray Bishop and Flora Lee (Morgan) Bishop. She married William Leonard Short on March 26, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They moved to Arlington, Texas in 2007 from Azle, Texas. Leonard and Dorothy owned and managed various businesses in Texas through the years, lastly a miniature golf course near Lake Worth. She was a member of the Green Oaks Church of Christ in Arlington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wm. Leonard Short on February 3, 2011, and five brothers and sisters.

Dorothy is survived by one son, Leo Short and wife Toni of Mansfield, Texas; one daughter, Reba Osburn and husband Glen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren: Carisha Hullet and husband David of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Nathan Osburn of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Brady Short and wife Rachel of Burleson, Texas, Sephra Scheuber and husband Matt of Moore, Oklahoma; four great-grandchildren: Audi Hullet, Zade Hullet, Ezra Short, Autumn Short; one brother, Kenneth Bishop of Lubbock, Texas; and one sister, Jean Parker of Graham, Texas.
