Dorothye Rue of Olney at age 93 died peacefully at Olney's Hamilton Hospital on Saturday November 1, 2014. She is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Dorothye was born September 14, 1921 at Winfield, Texas. Her father was Vernon Earl Waits, and her mother was Etta (Caraway) Waits.

Dorothye was the owner of Dot's Beauty Clinic in Olney, and later ran a catering business for lunches for the Lions and Rotary Civic Clubs, and other occasions. She was known for her "famous" hot rolls.

Her life was centered on her kids and grandkids, for their well being, especially for their spiritual well being. She was a powerful witness to them about reading the Bible and living their lives for Jesus Christ. She was a prayer warrior who prayed for them on a daily basis, because she cared deeply for their everlasting souls.

Those who preceded her in death and are now reunited with them in heaven are husband Joseph Edward Rickett, who died in a car wreck in 1952, and husband Lonnie D. Rue, who she married in 1958, and who passed with cancer in 1983.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, Vernon Earl Waits and Etta Waits; and one sister, Jackie Faye (Waits) Lawrence, and two brothers: R. A. Waits and Shirley V. Waits.

Survivors include two sons: Joe Pat Rickett and wife Judy, and Lonnie D. Rue, Jr., and wife Obelea, all of Olney, Texas; daughter, June (Rue) Marion of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania; grandchildren: Kyle Rickett, Jourdan Rue and David Rue; nephews: Michael Waits and Rodney Waits; and niece, Caramia (Waits) Davis.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 in Lunn Funeral Home Chapel, and will be officiated by Reverends Michael Waits, Stephen Winner, and Claude Hendrix.

Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
