Obituary

Doylene Bailey, age 89, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her home in Olney. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Scotte Clark, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Doylene was born on June 2, 1934, in Newcastle, Texas to the late Doyle and Clara (Foster) Davis. She graduated Valedictorian of Newcastle High School class of 1951. She married Frank Bailey on December 12, 1952, in Roswell, New Mexico. She moved to Olney in 1956 and was a member of First Baptist Church. Doylene had worked at Fort Belknap Electric Co-Op, was a bookkeeper for Cub Drug and retired from Olney ISD as the payroll clerk. She loved her family dearly and was the rock that they could depend on under any circumstance. She loved being around her grandkids, great-grandkids and her great-great-grandkids. Doylene was an avid reader and read 203 books last year. She was a great fan and supporter of the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs.

Doylene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her brother, Bev Davis; and her nephew, Donnie Davis.

Doylene is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Frankie and Becky Bailey of Olney; her daughter, Lydia Ficker and fiancé Lee Henderson of Olney; her daughter and son-in-law, Regina and James Damron of Olney; five grandchildren: Amanda Barrientes and husband Raul of Olney, Melinda Horn and husband David of Graham, Kayla Conder and Bud Youngblood of Olney, Nathan Conder and wife Jennifer of Blackwood, New Jersey and Kristin Webb and husband Kyle of Monroeville, New Jersey; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Sue Brunette of Fort Worth; her sister-in-law, Boots Davis of Olney; her special friend, Bertie Bruton of Olney; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Mankins with Olney Hamilton Hospital and Tricia Crossland and Haley Collins with Beyond Faith Hospice for their loving care.
