Eddie Ross Wood, age 62, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Olney, Texas, with Dr. Chad Edgington officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Ed was born on June 21, 1961, in Freeport, Texas to the late Albert Ross and Helen Marie (Ezell) Wood. He was a graduate of Angleton High School.  Ed married Minnie Carr on August 7, 1987, in Sweeny, Texas, and they moved to Olney in 1995. Ed was a Foreman at Texas-New Mexico Electric Company and worked for the company for forty years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Olney for thirty years and served as a Deacon. He was also a faithful attendee of the Men's Bible Study every Friday at the Refuge. Ed loved to play golf, he enjoyed traveling, and above all, Ed loved his job.

Ed is survived by his wife, Minnie Wood of Olney, Texas; two sons: Blaine Carr and Marie of Borger, Texas, and Brian Carr of Sweetwater, Texas; six grandchildren: Danny Carr, Gavin Carr, Colton Carr, Jaylee Bowers, Bradi Bowers and Cashton Bowers; special family members, Andy and Fallon Bowers; and numerous extended family members.

Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Ross and Helen Marie Wood, and his sister Peggy Moran.

Honorary pallbearers are Danny Carr, Colton Carr, Gavin Carr, Cashton Bowers, and Christian Fuska.
