Elnora (Pogy) Ozmer, 96, a devoted loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully October 30, 2014 in Fort Worth. She was born in Van Buren, Arkansas to George and Ethel Perkins on July 28, 1918. At the conclusion of WW I, the family returned to Olney where she was raised. She fell in love with Thomas Wilfred (Bill) Ozmer of Newcastle and they were married on April 7, 1941. They had 3 children together; Mary Ella, Harvey Lynn, and Thomas Elwyn. After her husband's sudden death in 1962, her perseverance and resilience helped keep the family together. She was a homemaker and employee of Fort Worth Harris Hospital for 30 years prior to retiring to her home town of Olney in 1993. While raising her kids, she shared her love of music with them as they took piano lessons, played in school bands, and sang in the church choir. Throughout her life she was an active member of the United Methodist Church teaching Sunday School and was also a member of the Olney Hospital Auxiliary. She was a loving and trusted friend to her neighbors and a staunch supporter of the TCU Horned Frogs, Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers.
Preceded in death by her husband Bill, daughter Mary Ozmer Daniel, and son Thomas Elwyn Ozmer, she is survived by her son Harvey Ozmer and wife Carol, 4 grandchildren: Robert David Daniel, Steven Thomas Ozmer and wife Gina, Deborah Joelle Cunningham and husband Aric Cunningham, Russell Kim Ozmer and wife Courtney, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to sincerely thank all of the staff at Green Valley Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for the love, support, and kindness they have extended to her during her stay.
Graveside services will be held at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014.
