Elvis Davis, age 87, died Monday, August 23, 2021, at his home in Megargel, Texas. Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Lunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Philip Centers, officiating.  Interment will follow in Megargel Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Elvis was born on August 29, 1933 in Spiro, Oklahoma to the late Theodore and Sadie (Hudson) Davis.  He was a longtime resident of Olney and Megargel and was a member of the Pentecostal Church. He married Rita Kellar on July 23, 1958. She preceded him in death of June 16, 2006. He married Thelma (Shimp) York on October 8, 2006. Elvis loved his family and went over and beyond for his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved to go fishing, hunting and camping and to go on picnics with his family. He also loved to play baseball and liked to watch westerns, especially John Wayne films. Elvis was a very friendly person and waved at everybody he met on the highway. He was preceded in death by one son, Carl Davis, one daughter, Celia Davis, one brother, Richard Davis, one sister, Mattie Ludwig and one great-grandson, Bentley Clayton.

Elvis is survived by his wife, Thelma Davis of Megargel; two sons, Clifford Davis of Megargel and Craig Davis and wife Tammy of Olney; two daughters, Shelia McDonald of Megargel and Sheree Owens of Olney; one sister, Bertha Cooksey of Coos Bay, Oregon; ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
