Obituary

Emma Lou (Gibbs) Farmer, age 91 of Newcastle, Texas, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022, in Graham, Texas. As per Emma Lou's request, a private family service was held on Thursday, February 17, 2022, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home in Olney, Texas. Interment followed at Newcastle Cemetery in Newcastle, Texas.  Arrangements were under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Emma Lou was born on April 5, 1930, in Olney, Texas to the late Henry Coleman Gibbs and Ethel Belle (Trammell) Gibbs. She married Julian Farmer on August 24, 1947, in Olney, Texas. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2015. Emma Lou was a faithful member of the Newcastle Eastside Church of Christ. She was a very talented seamstress, cook and loved to crochet.  Emma Lou loved spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Johnny Gibbs and Allan Gibbs.

Emma is survived by one son, Justin Farmer and wife Teresa of Graham, Texas; three daughters: Judy Mitchell and husband Jimmy of Fort Belknap, Texas, Nancy Miller and husband Jim of Alto, New Mexico and Sheila Wilson of Denton, Texas; two brothers: Floyd (Bozy) Gibbs of Newcastle, Texas and Jerry Gibbs and wife Georgie of Burleson, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
