Estell Kirby, age 92, died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Hamilton Hospital in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2013, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by William Kirby of Houston, Texas. Interment will follow in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas.

Estell was born on February 16, 1921 in Polk County, Arkansas, to the late Jeuie M. and Sarah S. (Rogers) Smith. She graduated from Sabine High School in Sabine, Texas, in 1939. She married Thomas E. "Tom" Kirby on June 11, 1939 and they moved to Olney from Kilgore, Texas in 1945 where she was a homemaker and bookkeeper. Estell was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Olney, Texas, where she was a Sunday school teacher for over fifty years and had been active with youth in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.

Estell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom on July 28, 2001; one son, Martin Eugene Kirby in 1945; two brothers, Eugene Smith and Paul Smith; and, two sisters, Lois Curnutt and Eulida Oliver.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Kirby and wife Kathleen of Bergheim, Texas, DeWayne Kirby and wife Dixie of Olney, Texas; eight grandchildren, William Kirby and wife Laura of Houston, Texas, Jimmy Kirby and wife Kimberly of Richmond, Texas, Lori Ann Wilson and husband Jim of League City, Texas, Russell Kirby and wife Susan of Schertz, Texas, Kimberli Cuba and husband B.J. of Megargel, Texas, Christopher Kirby and wife Stephanie of Olney, Texas, Randy Newman and wife Danette of Boerne, Texas, and Keith Newman of Mason, Texas; eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be on Thursday, May 30, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
