Ethelda quotSamquot Van Winkle, age 75, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at Scott White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011, at Cottonwood Cemetery near Bryson, Texas with Scotte Clark of Hamilton Street Church of Christ of Olney officiating. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
quotSamquot was born Ethelda Bryson on August 14, 1936 in Bryson, Texas to the late Henry and Mary Rankin Bryson. She and Jimmy Van Winkle were married on August 6, 1976 in Waurika, Oklahoma. They moved to Olney in 1980 from Petrolia, Texas. quotSamquot was a homemaker and involved in ranching. She was a member of the Hamilton Street Church of Christ in Olney. quotSamquot was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Troutz Lewis a sister, Nina Sheets and her grandson, Jacob Troutz.
Survivors include husband Jimmy Van Winkle of Olney, Texas daughter Lindy Bruton and husband Aaron of Olney, Texas four sisters: Mary Alice King and husband Tony of Bryson, Texas Peggy Epperson of Graham, Texas Annie Wilson of McKinney, Texas Henrietta Sontag and husband Mark also of McKinney, Texas nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 56 p.m. at the funeral home.
