Peggy Faydell Dixon, age 85, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023, in Olney, Texas.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 30, 2023, at Southside Baptist Church in Olney with Josh Hagle, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Faydell was born on May 2, 1938, in Olney, Texas, to the late Estel Wade and Allie (Williams) Wade.  She married Sam Dixon in January 1962 in Olney. She was a lifetime resident of Olney and a member of Southside Baptist Church where she loved to participate in many church functions. Faydell worked forty years for her brother Robert at Robert's Flowerland. She then worked at Cub Drug for seventeen years and loved visiting with customers when making deliveries. Faydell loved fishing and gardening and was always very generous with the harvest from her beautiful garden. Family was the most important part of her life and she made it her priority to let them know how much she loved them.

Faydell was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters: Wanda Cone, Reba Robertson, Joyce Bennett and Alta Dunagan; a brother, Robert Wade; and a step-daughter, Carol Young.

Faydell is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sammie and Ruben Perez of Olney; one son, Scottie Dixon of Olney; two step-sons: Lonnie Dixon and wife Renona of Graford and Ricky Dixon and wife Sarah of Wichita Falls; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Linda Wade of Olney; three grandchildren: Alisha, Nikki and Kenneth Scott; seven step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
