Gaynell Francis Slayton Leath was born June 12, 1956 in San Leandro, California to William H. Moore and Ruby (Melvene) Taylor and passed away January 13, 2020 in Olney, Texas.

She is survived by her partner, Michael Lemmer of Olney, Texas; her godchild, Jacob Ward, and his son Jacob Ryan Ward; her sister, Betty M. Rogers and partner Mike Dannelley of North Richland Hills, Texas; her brothers, Kristopher W. Moore of Olney, Texas and Charles R. Slayton and wife Bobbie of Turner Falls, Oklahoma; her nieces, Teresa Crumly of LaPine, Oregon, Laurie Mills of Gainesville, Texas and nephews Wayne Rogers of Houston, Texas, Robbie Moore of Hurst, Texas and Charles Slayton of Thackerville, Oklahoma; and her beloved Aunt Rose Taylor Bagwell of Burleson, Texas; as well as numerous cousins, other relatives and a host of many friends.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Steven Howard Leath and Jason Wiley Slayton Leath, her mother Ruby Melvene (Taylor) Slayton, step-father Wiley V. Slayton, and her birth father William H. Moore.
She attended Keller High School in Keller, Texas and worked for Southlake Police Department as Dispatcher until injured in a serious car accident. Gaynell was a very loving and giving person, who loved life to its fullest.
