Hazel Collins Degrate, age 71, died Friday, November 21, 2014 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014, in the Chapel of Lunn Funeral Home with Louis Golden, pastor of Rising Star Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Hazel was born on July 6, 1943 in Beckville, Texas in Panola County to the late Earvin and Mattie B. (Johnson) Collins. She was a retired seamstress, a member of the Society of the Eastern Star and a member of Rising Star Baptist Church in Olney. She moved to Seymour in 1960 from Snyder, Texas. Hazel married Joseph Degrate on April 2, 1962 in Snyder. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Eva Nabors, Gracie B. Degrate, Harley Jr. Collins and Gracie Degrate.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Barbara Degrate Loundon of Wichita Falls, Texas; three grandchildren: Quentin McPeters of Denton, Texas, Christopher Wofford and Nicole McPeters both of Wichita Falls, Texas; one great-grandchild, Olivia McPeters; brothers and sisters: Joyce Hall and husband Billy of Wichita Falls, Texas, Ruby Davis of Altadena, California, Joe Collins and wife Barbara of Dallas, Texas, James Collins of Westover, Texas, Juanita Cooper of Lancaster, California and Jeannie Smith Collins of Snyder, Texas.

Family visitation will be Friday, December 5, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lunn Funeral Home in Olney.
