Hilmar C. Braune, age 100, died June 2, 2013 at Seven Oaks Nursing Home in Olney, Texas. A private family burial was held June 3, 2013 at the Braune family farm in Olney, Texas. A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olney, Texas, with Rev. Sean Reeves, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

Hilmar was born October 25, 1912 in Bosque County, Texas to the late Christian and Maria (Isensee) Braune. He moved to Olney as a young child and began his life as a farmer and rancher on the Braune family farm near Olney. Hilmar married Pauline Martha Bernhardt on October 29, 1935. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Olney, Texas.

Hilmar was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Pauline, on October 1, 2005, his brother Edgar Andrew Braune and his sister Renata Kunkel.

Hilmar is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Craaybeek and son-in-law, Thomas, both of Olney, Texas, and grandson, Trevor Wilson of Austin, Texas.
