J.D. Jones, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Grace Care Center in Olney, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Lunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020, at Southside Baptist Church in Olney with Andy Graham, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

J.D. was born on April 5, 1931, in Archer County, Texas, to the late William Roy Jones and Julia Pearl (Horton) Jones. He was a lifetime resident of Olney and a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served with the Texas Baptist Men Disaster Team and the Brotherhood program. He served his country proudly in the United States Army for two years and was released to the U. S. Army Reserves to complete his term of service. J.D. married Doris Julaine Copeland on January 21, 1967 in Graham, Texas. He worked at Hexcel in Graham until his retirement. J.D. truly enjoyed being outside and doing yard work. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Fonda Roberts, and two brothers, Hubert Arvell Jones and Millard Lee Roy Jones.

J.D. is survived by his wife, Julaine Jones of Olney; one son, Andy Ray Jones of Olney; one daughter, Jacqueline Anne Corwin of Haslet, Texas; son-in-law, Ronnie Roberts of Midland, Texas; one brother, Jimmy Arnold Jones of Lawton, Oklahoma; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
