Jack D. Wages, age 81, died June 30, 2013 at Olney Health Care Center in Olney, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at the Elbert Cemetery in Elbert, Texas with Scotte Clark of Olney officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney, Texas.

Jack was born on March 9, 1932 in Gainesville, Texas to the late Pernell Dossell and Ada Lillian (Stanley) Wages. He served in the United States Marine Corps for three years. He received his Bachelors Degree in Business from North Texas University where he played football and was a member of the University of North Texas Letterman's Association. Jack had worked for First Mercantile Credit, Mid-Continent Supply Company and White's Auto in Wichita Falls, Texas before he became engaged in ranching. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Johnnie Guffey.

Survivors include one son, Brad Wages, of Sierra Madre, California; one daughter, Staci Hahn, of Ojai, California; and one granddaughter, Emily Hahn.
