James L. Burt, age 71, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Denton, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Lynn Creek Cemetery in Jack County with Scotte Clark officiating. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

James was born on April 4, 1941 to the late Roy W. and Iva Lorene Price Burt in Sulfur Springs, Texas. He married Patricia Ann Taylor in Sugarland, Texas on February 14, 1965. They had been married for thirtyfive years. She passed away on February 29, 2000. James had been an oilfield consultant, and a licensed pilot. James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Troy Leon Burt, and a sister, Lora Mae Wright.

Survivors include two sons: Christopher Burt of Monahans, Texas, and Phillip James of Azle, Texas two daughters: Camille Bryant and husband Jimmy of Midland, Texas and Cindy Billings of Freer, Texas a brother, L.C. Burt and wife Ann of Frisco, Texas three sisters: Dorcas Roach of Electra, Texas, Cora Anderson and husband Edward of Olney, Texas, and Minnie Turner of Frisco, Texas seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 78 pm at the funeral home.
