James Ford, Sr.

James Ford, Sr., age 78, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2026. Family visitation will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Restland Cemetery, with Dr. Chad Edgington, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Olney, officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.

James was born on August 27, 1947, in Olney, Texas, to the late John Elmer and Hazel Lee (Boyd) Ford. He worked for PPG Glass for thirty-plus years. James married Jerri Long on December 12, 2016, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Young County. James’ passion was shooting guns and hunting. He loved to play dominoes and play fetch with his beloved little girl, Sassy June.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Elmer and Hazel Lee (Boyd) Ford

James is survived by his wife Jerri (Long Corbin) Ford of Graham, Texas, his son Jef Ford, Jr. and Amee Roland of Olney, Texas, his daughter Jamie Ford of Wichita Falls, Texas, his two step-sons Tommy Corbin of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ty Corbin of Graham, Texas, his seven grandchildren: Trey Ford, John Ford, Ethan Ford, Jesse Ford, Tori Roland, Dymon Ford, and Virginia Ford, and his eighteen great-grandchildren.
