James Janca, age 90, died Friday, July 29, 2016 in Olney, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at Restland Cemetery in Olney with Jeff Janca, Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church of Carrizo Springs, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
James was born on February 25, 1926 in Olney, Texas to the late Frank and Myrtle (Wesley) Janca. He graduated from Olney High School in 1943. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during both World War II and Korea and continued his military service until his retirement. He had also worked as a chef. James moved to Olney in 1992 from Corpus Christi. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bill Janca and Freddie Janca, and one sister, Paula Parker.
James is survived by one daughter, Hedy Lynn Goodman of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Bob Janca of Houston, Texas; one sister, Peggy Parker of Olney, Texas; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
