James J. OBrien
Olney James J. OBrien, age 94 died Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Hamilton Hospital in Olney, Texas. Services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Olney with the Rev. Msgr. Raymund Mullan officiating. Burial will be at Saratoga National Cemetery in New York. Arrangements are under the ion of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
James was born on January 22, 1918 in Troy, New York to the late Martin and Catherine OHara OBrien. He and Nancy Conahan were married in Troy, New York on September 22, 1952. James had been an accountant for The New York State Appellate Division court. He received a Masters of Science degree in Accounting from Siena College. James served in the United States Navy on the USS ShangriLa as a Petty officer First Class during World War II. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Olney, and was a Knights of ColumbusFourth Degree. James was preceded in death by his parents his wife on November 19, 1999 two brothers: Edward and Martin OBrien three sisters: Catherine OBrien, Nancy Carey, and Florence Bessette.
Survivors include three sons: Michael OBrien and wife Isabelle of Olney, Texas, Terrence P. OBrien of Louisville, Colorado, James Kevin OBrien and wife Teri of Mirimar, Florida two daughters: Patricia Ann Gott and husband Robert of Williamsburg, Virginia, Ellen Meyers and husband Tom of Albany, New York also six grandchildren.
Visitation and Rosary will be on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 68 p.m. at the OBrien home, 127 Woodland, Olney, Texas.
